Trainers and owners Molly Flaherty and Patricia Peckham have worked together at Arcadia Farm since 1987. Both are licensed USEF hunter and hunt seat equitation judges. Their combined experience of coaching, teaching, and riding brings more than 50 years of expertise in the hunter and jumper show horse industry. Lessons and training are an ongoing process with both short and long term goals uniquely tailored to each horse and rider team. Hard work, dedication and a seriousness of purpose are as important as talent to be a successful rider. At Arcadia Farm, we offer a way for all riders to become horsemen and horsewomen.
Arcadia Farm welcomes Krista Goossens to our teaching and training staff. As a junior, she competed in both hunters and equitation, with major ribbons up and down the east coast, including Devon and Pennsylvania National Horse Show.
After aging out of the junior ranks, she went on to Skidmore College to pursue a degree in business and economics. After Skidmore, she received her MBA at Union, and spent two years working in the alternative energy industry before deciding that her true passion was in the horse world.
Returning to the horse industry, Krista spent almost three years working at Back Country Farm with the Shulman family. Here she focused her time on the pony ring, coaching and training the young riders and ponies for Devon, Indoors, and Pony Finals. She also worked with the hunters and jumpers, from pre-green hunters through Grand Prix jumpers. Most recently, Krista spent several months working with Timmy Kees and Chris Cawley at Norfield Stables, training riders for the equitation ring, and assisting in preparing jumpers for the Pan American games.
We are excited to have Krista join our team!
